This semester i learned
grammar
active verbs
run-on
fragments
passive verbs
thesis/topic statements
i learned to extend my writing in to longer paragraphs
Meaning this spring learning how to catch passive verbs and pronoun/antecedent verbs along with run-on sentences and fragment. I know I’m not great at avoiding them but I’m good enough to know what they are and caution myself on catching myself. Slowly but surely i will know the fragments and when i continue to write I’m hoping I’ll have the fragments and sentences I’m my mind. So maybe this class helped me make my fictional story grow better. I just have to rewrite and rewrite to make it better. This semester i have evolved my writing from when i came here and said detail but didn’t dwell on them long enough. I have also stayed in focus in my papers for the most part. I still linger around topics but i try and get to the point of the paper, at least i hope there is/was a point to them. I really didn’t learn that much around the school since i had a life out of school to have but i did like to come in to this class because of the people here and the entertainment when it comes up in the class.
This semester i learned how to make a good solid thesis statement and topic statement. At first i wasn’t very good but as i kept writing papers they began to improve. i know they’re still not good enough but the thesis statements are growing to some what of a perfection. These statements are still tricky to write but i know in time they’ll become easier. Personally and this probably goes for a lot of people topic sentences are a hell of a lot easier to write. Yet on some subjects i found they weren’t that easy. Well I hope they are good solid statements.
